“Be a lady”, they said. Throughout my model long career and at so many other pedestals of life, the one thing I’ve always heard constantly everywhere is the “opinions of people” on my body size and shape. For the longest time, I’ve questioned myself and thought of whether what I do is even worth it or not. For the longest time in my life, I had tried to be a size zero. For the longest time, I’ve been second guessing my choices for my body simply because others might not like them. And for the longest time, I’ve never truly looked at myself with pure love in my eyes. ___________________________________ It broke my heart to hold myself back each time in my life and hurt my body in ways unimaginable. Until one incident changed my life. I faced a severe lower back injury a couple of years ago (because I was trying to hard at the gym to have “the perfect body”) and that truly shed light on the reality of my situation. Nothing mattered when I was at my lowest. Not the opinions of people, not my body size, not my dressing sense. Nothing. All that mattered was how I felt about myself. What kind of energy I chose to give myself. And ever since then, I’ve lived for myself! All these years I thought life was harsh. But that wasn’t true at all. Life has always been kind, I’ve been so harsh on myself. __________________________________ This audio brought tears to my eyes as soon as I heard it.
