Sushant Singh Rajput (January 21, 1986 – June 14, 2020) was an Indian actor, dancer, TV personality, entrepreneur and Bollywood philanthropist. Rajput started his career with a television series. Her first performance was the romantic drama Star Plus, Kiss Desh Mein Hai Mera (2008), followed by an award-winning performance in Zee TV’s soap opera Pavithra Rishta (2009-2011).
Rajput started his film career in the friendly drama Kai Po Che! (2013), for which he received a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Male Debut. He then starred in the romantic comedy Shuddh Desi Romance (2013) and as a regular detective in the action film Detective Bomkesh Bakshi! (2015). His most engaging release came with a supporting role in the satire PK (2014), followed by Sports Buyers Am. s. Donnie: An Untold Story (2016). For his subsequent performance, he received his first Filmfare nomination for Best Actor. Rajput then appeared in the commercially successful films Kedarnath (2018) and Chichhore (2019).
NITI Aayog, a political think tank of the Government of India, signed it with the aim of promoting the Women’s Entrepreneurship Forum (WEP). Rajput is actively involved in various programs in the form of Sushant 4 Shiksha, in an effort to help young students, in addition to acting and mentoring from Innsai Ventures.
Rajput was born in Patna. His ancestral home is in Purnia area of Bihar. He has a sister, Mitu Singh, a state-level cricketer. Due to his mother’s death in 2002, the Rajput was devastated, and in the same year the family moved from Patna to Delhi.
Sushant held talks with his colleague Ankita Lohande for six years, which ended in 2016.
On June 14, 2020, Rajput was found dead in a suicide apparently hanged at his home in Bandra, Mumbai. He suffered from depression for about six months.
