Born on 16 July 1984, Katrina Kaif is one of eight siblings, all girls, from a mother who is a Caucasian of British nationality, and a father who was previously from Kashmir, India, but who has acquired British citizenship.
Katrina grew up in Hawaii, but was raised in London, UK. She accidentally started modeling when she was in Hawaii at the age of 14, when she was approached for a jewelery campaign. She then continued modeling in London.
Continuing modeling was the reason she got a break in the Bollywood film “Boom” proposed by filmmaker Kaizad Gustad.
She was flooded with modeling assignments when she set her foot on Indian soil, most notably with her impeccable expressive face, hourglass figures, and drop-dead gorgeous look.
Professionally she debuted as a model with photographer Atul Kasbekar, and upon being accepted, she received offers from LG, Cola, Fevicol, Lakme, and Vet. It was Lakme Commercial who notices him. She retained Matrix to act on her behalf as her manager and remained at the price she deserved.

She is taking Hindi and dance lessons to fit in with the Bollywood culture. She likes to display a picture of her learning Kathak dance, where she danced non-stop 7 hours per day.
